CAMERON HIGHLANDS TRIP

Above are some pictures I took during the trip.
On the 1st on June, the SMK Convent Butterworth's Tourism Club organised a trip to Cameron Highlands.
Eventhough I am no more the staff of SMK Convent Butterworth because I got my transfer and reported to my new school effective on 1st June 2009, but I joined this trip because the promise I made to the teachers and students.
39 students joined the trip. The students were from form 1 and 2.
It was organised by Miss Sangeetah who is incharge of the afternoon session's Tourism Club.
Miss Nalini and Miss Pamela also came along.
We left school at 7.30am by bus. Stopped at Bukit Gantang R&R. Had our breakfast there.
The next stop was at the Simpang Pulai. On the way to Cameron Highlands we experienced the change of the temperature. Getting cooler. The students were lively in the bus, talking and singing. We stopped at Ee Feng Gu Honey Bee Farm. The students went around the place. Bought fresh honey. We reached Brinchang at about 1.30pm. Had our lunch. Then visited Cactus Valley and the Big Red Strawberry Farm. There, the students' favourite meal was the chocolate strawberries. They really enjoyed it. Then we went down to Tanah Rata to visit Bharat's Tea Plantation. The view was wonderful. We tried the freshly brewed tea. Next stop was the Kasimanis Strawberry Farm. Here we enjoyed a few types of snacks made from strawberries. The students were tired, so we went to the apartment that we booked. Highlander Apartment. Reached there at about 5pm. Refresh, had dinner there. About 8pm went to the night market. Here, we saw many kinds of fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers and food. The prices were reasonable, if we can bargain. By 10pm we went back to the apartment.
On the 2nd day, we packed our things, checked out and went for breakfast. About 9am, we went to a few vegetable markets. Then we stopped at Raaju's Hill Strawberry Farm. It was because we wanted to taste and buy freshly plucked strawberries to bring back for our loved ones. We also bought some fresh strawberry jam. Next stop was the Butterfly farm. Then a few vegetable market again, to buy fresh flowers and vegetables. On the way back we stopped at Rose Valley. The last stop was at the other part of the Bharat's Tea Plantation. Took a group picture. Cannot miss to have a fresh cup of tea again. We had lunch at Tringkap before going back. On the way back the students were tired and sleepy, but they were in high spirits, singing and made fun of their friends who were sleeping. Back on the highway, we stopped at Bukit Gantang again.
Reached school at about 8.45pm. The students' parents were waiting.
I thanked the bus driver for taking and bringing us back safely, thanked the other three teachers and the students for allowing me to join their trip. I really enjoyed myself and I believe the students and teachers enjoyed themselves.
Farewell trip. A trip I will remember.
Haha.

Satu sajak buat rakan guru dan bekas guru-guru ku

Ku Tanyakan Pada Sang Guru

Wahai guru ku, ceritalah apa asal mu...
Hai anak...
Aku juga insan seperti mu dulu
Mentah tiada haluan namun terima bimbingan
Oleh Sang Guru seperti ku
Pelbagai nasihat sebagai iringan

GURU PEMBINA NEGARA BANGSA ( 2009 )

Sempena Hari Guru pada 16.05.2009 ( Sabtu ), beberapa sms yang saya terima.

1. A good teacher is like a lighthouse, it doesn'tring bells or fire guns to call attention, to its
luminance, it simply shines.

2. Kami Guru Malaysia, berikrar dan berjanji, mendidik dan memimpin putera puteri negara
kita. Selamat Hari Guru.

3. Without TEACHERS--- dayz are

sadday,
moanday,
tearsday,
wasteday,
thirstday,
fightday,
shatterday.

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY 2009.

4. A teacher is an artist who paints not on canvas but on children's souls giving them a colourful
and wonderful world.

5. Guru separuh daripada manusia dan manusia umpama guru. Sememangnya guru adalah
manusia. Oleh itu jadikanlah guru sebagai manusia untuk memanusiakan manusia.

6. The mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates, the
GREAT teacher inspires

7. Hari ini, ku bahagia. Walau saban hari bergelut dengan pena, bingit telinga, berpinar mata. Di
serang lesu, namun ku tahu akulah insan terpilih MEMBINA NEGARA BANGSA. Aku bangga
bila ada ucapan "terima kasih cikgu".

8. Smooth road never makes a good driver. Smooth sea never makes a good sailor. Clear sky
never makes a good pilot. Problem free life never makes a strong person. Be strong enough to
accept the challengers in life. Don't ask life, "Why me?" instead say, "Try me".

Semua rakan seperjuangan ... SELAMAT HARI GURU.

The short video capture of Mat's Wedding

click for bigger view

Selva has described for what had happened on the wedding day. So, here I put the video for you to see. It shows Punitha (Mathavan's Wife) and her father entering the church for lucky Mathavan.

Mathavan's Wedding

22.11.2008 (Saturday)

From home in Lunas to Butterworth bus station.
Took 1.15pm bus to Ipoh. Farish fetched me at Medan Gopeng. Went to Setiawan. Arrived on time for the function at 5.30pm in Tamil Methodist Church in Setiawan. Greeted and wished our friend Mathavan; my roomate for three years; in Ulu Kinta and Tanjung Malim. He was waiting his special moment to enter married life.
Farish and I thought we will meet some or a few of our classmates from PKPG-TESL UPSI 2004-2007 at Mathavan's wedding since some of them are from Ipoh, but just the two of us there.
We understand, they have their work to do. "BUSY". No offence. No hard feelings.
Farish; armed with his digital camera started clicking away his Olympus in the church and the occasion. One of his favourite hobbies. The wedding went smoothly and all wished the new couple a happy married life. Before going back, Farish and I walked around the town.
As my train ticket from Ipoh back to Bukit Mertajam at 11.30pm, Farish and I gave our simple wedding gift and our best wishes to Mathavan and drove back to Ipoh.
In Ipoh, with Farish's guidance, in a short time frame, I updated my blog.
DELAY. Train delayed almost 1 hour. My good friend waited with me. Wanted to go and have a hot cup of tea nearby the railway station, no stalls there. So, sat at the train station platform 1 and shared our thoughts in many issues. What's the issue??? It's our issues...
About 12.35am, train arrived. With a firm handshake and words that we will meet again in near future and to keep in touch, thats for sure. Thats what we been doing since graduated from UPSI.
Reached Bukit Mertajam railway station about 5.45am.
Happy that I was able to attend a friend's wedding with a good friend: Mohd Faisal Farish.
Thank you.
